Interested in working for the Northern Rivers CMA ?
The Northern Rivers CMA region extends from the Queensland border in the north, to the Camden Haven catchment in the south and inland to the eastern slopes of the New England tablelands. The Northern Rivers CMA has 6 offices located at Kemspey, Armidale, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Alstonville and Murwillumbah.
Permanent Positions
Northern Rivers CMA staff are employed in a range of positions, the most common of which is Catchment Officer. Catchment Officers vary in their roles and their fields of expertise, from specialistis in soils, to ecologists and fisheries managers. Other postions include Theme Leader, Catchment Coordinator and Program Manager - each having a greater level of management responsibility. The Northern Rivers CMA also employs administrative and financial staff and offers an office-traineeship (based in Grafton) each year.
While most catchment staff are graduates, not all positions require formal qualifications.
Permanent Positions Vacant are advertised in the media and on the NSW Government jobs website. Selection is based on identified criteria and a merit process.
Temporary / Casual / Part Time Positions
From time to time, the Northern Rivers CMA has a need for relief staff or for staff to undertake specific short term projects. These could be:
- GIS/Mapping
- Field Vegetation Identification
- Database Management
- Office Administration
- Soil Erosion Advice
- General natural resource management
A current Drivers Licence is required for most positions.

Expressions of interest will be acknowledged and held on a register. You will be contacted should opportunities arise.
